Accessibility
Refers to the design of products, devices, services or environments for people who experience disabilities. Includes a wide range of disabilities including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity and combinations of these (WCAG 2.1).
App Launch Screen
The display screen where apps are launched from.
Address

Data type to map a set of names to numeric values.

A person’s ethnic group.

A set of characters in the same style and size.

A symbol used to help user navigation.
Information Governance
The way organisations process or handle information covering personal information and corporate information.
Interoperability
The ability of systems to exchange and make use of information and/or processes.
Log In
The process by which an individual gains access to a computer system by identifying and authenticating themselves.
Log Out
The process by which an individual disconnects from a computer system.
Menu
A control element that provides access to functions.
Mobile App
A computer program designed to run on a mobile device such as a phone or tablet.
Pop Up
A display area that appears in the foreground of an interface display.
Production
Live release, ready for general use.
Prototype
A first preliminary version.
Responsiveness/Adaptivity
App responsiveness to different devices and screen size.
Sex
The biological or genetic sex of the individual.
Stakeholder
A person who is affected by an organisation, strategy or project.
Touch Target
The area of any on-screen element that someone can select, touch or interact with.
User Experience (UX)
The shaping of digital services so that they work for people (UK Design Council).
User Interface (UI)
The interface features through which users interact with the hardware and software of computers and mobile devices.
